Nexeo Plastics Expands Portfolio with Syensqo Distribution Across EMEA for Automotive, Appliances, E&E, and Healthcare Industries

This collaboration enables Nexeo Plastics to distribute the following  Syensqo’s innovative materials designed for the automotive, appliances, electrical & electronics (E&E), and healthcare industries.  

Amodel® PPA (polyphthalamide) is a family of high-temperature polyamides that retain their high strength and stiffness up to 280°C. They maintain mechanical integrity after thousands of hours at elevated temperatures and in high humidity and chemically aggressive environments. For over 25 years, Amodel® has been used in automotive, electronics, consumer, and industrial applications. 

Ixef® PARA (polyarylamide) provides a unique combination of strength and aesthetics, making it ideal for complex parts that require both overall strength and a smooth, beautiful surface. Ixef® is suitable for applications in healthcare for surgical instruments. In appliances for levers, oven handles, coffee drip grids, and external housing components. In the mobility area, Ixef® lightweight materials offer great potential for increasing vehicle efficiency. Ixef® is also used in Electrical & Electronics for mobile phones, tablets and laptops, offering unparalleled design flexibility. 

Omnix®/Kalix is a family of high-performance polyamides that bridge the cost-performance gap between lower-performing PA66 and higher performing polyphthalamide, such as Amodel® PPA. Omnix® HPPA is used in many markets, with developed applications in automotive for interior and exterior parts. In the consumer area, applications such as coffee machines and fryers. In the construction area, support for steps is just one example. Omnix® HPPA is widely present in healthcare, oil & gas and renewable energy. Omnix® HPPA is also present in sports and leisure products. Kalix® HPPA is designed for structural components used in smart mobile electronic devices and components for medical equipment. 

Solef® PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a highly non-reactive thermoplastic fluoropolymer that is inherently flame retardant. It has a high degree of purity, robust mechanical properties, electrochemical stability, and broad chemical resistance at high temperatures. Protective coatings made using Solef PVDF offer improved weathering properties and excellent resistance to UV, radiation and aging. FDA-approved grades for food contact are available. Solef® PVDF is commonly used in the chemical processing, semiconductor, membranes, healthcare, and oil and gas industries, as well as in lithium-ion batteries, wire and cable insulation, thermoplastic composites and food contact applications. Solef® PVDF foam is also gaining traction in aerospace applications.  

Xydar® LCP (liquid crystal polymer) is a glass fiber or mineral-filled resin that features excellent flow properties. It can be injection molded into thin-wall components, making this resin ideal for SMT components such as coatings, composites, connectors, additives and electrical motor components. It has outstanding strength at extreme temperatures to 350°C and is inherently flame retardant and has outstanding chemical resistance with little or no flash. Additionally, Xydar® LCP offers sufficient dielectric properties to ensure efficient electrical transmission for 5G antenna applications.
